Review:
This short book (less than 100 pages of content – and the pages are small and they use a very large font) can be read quickly and easily. The authors are trying to pass along what they have learned from their observations and research. It is meant to be practical knowledge that the reader can put into practice on a daily basis. The concepts are presented using examples and experiences – as an unfolding story.
The idea is to spend just a bit of time daily – even a minute – executing the techniques presented. These include setting goals, giving praise, and providing reprimands. While it may seem that the information presented in this book is obvious or even over simplified, it can be beneficial to use as a review of your current management or work habits.
The back cover of the book claims that the book “has taught millions the easy-to-use secrets that simplify your life, get more done in less time, reduce stress, and help you find peace of mind.” While it will not do all of that for everyone who reads it, there will no doubt be some benefit. And since it is such a widely read book, it is worth a look at least to know what others have read.
