Perhaps you have wondered exactly when you should apply for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE aka “Engineer-in-Training” (EIT)) or Profesional Engineer (PE) exam.  For example, if you want to take the exam in October 2010, when should you submit your application?

The short answer is “it depends on your state” – but it really is never too early to start planning and preparing to apply.

NCEES will open registration for the October exams on July 6, 2010.  Part of the process however is getting approval for an exam by your state board.  General information about the exam process and updated information about registering through the NCEES site is available via this link:  http://www.ncees.org/Exams/Exam_registration.php

You will need to contact your licensing board if you have questions about the approval process.
