AIAA Partnership with CAETE

AIAA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PARTNERS WITH CENTER FOR ADVANCED ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

February 18, 2010 – Reston, Va. – The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an education partnership with the Center for Advanced Engineering and Technology Education (CAETE) at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The partnership allows AIAA members to take advantage of the distance learning engineering courses CAETE offers, in both graduate and undergraduate programs, at a ten percent discount on tuition.

Merri Sanchez, AIAA’s vice president for education, stated: “The new partnership between AIAA and CAETE will enhance the value of AIAA’s education program for our members, allowing them to take several courses which are not offered through our Professional Development Program, including management courses, non-technical skills classes, and accredited university courses. We are especially pleased that we have been able to negotiate a tuition discount or rebate for our members for these valuable courses. Partnerships such as these are a key component of building a strong, vital aerospace workforce that is at the forefront of technological innovation.”

The CAETE program at the University of Colorado – Boulder, has been a leader in providing flexible and convenient access to postgraduate engineering coursework, graduate certificate programs, and advanced degrees. The University of Colorado is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The College of Engineering and Applied Science is accredited by ABET, Inc.

Please note: University of Colorado at Boulder’s College of Engineering and Applied Science is NOT accredited by ABET, Inc. as ABET only accredits individual programs. The College of Engineering and Applied Science at Boulder contains 8 such programs (all at the BS level) that are ABET accredited: Aerospace Engineering Science, Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
