ASEE Mission Statement
The American Society for Engineering Education is committed to furthering education in engineering and engineering technology. This mission is accomplished by promoting excellence in instruction, research, public service, and practice; exercising worldwide leadership; fostering the technological education of society; and providing quality products and services to members. The Society seeks to encourage local, national, and international communication and collaboration; influence corporate and government policies and involvement; promote professional interaction and lifelong learning; utilize effectively the Society’s human and other resources; recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations; encourage youth to pursue studies and careers in engineering and engineering technology; and influence the recruitment and retention of young faculty and underrepresented groups.
ASEE runs several meetings in the course of the year. The society’s biggest meeting is the Annual Conference and Exposition, which takes place in June.
ASEE has designed membership to serve the needs and interests of anyone involved or interested in engineering education. Society members come primarily from higher education, but they also are K-12 educators, engineering professionals, government representatives, and members of the general public.
ASEE offers print and electronic publications covering all aspects of the field of engineering education.
ASEE has administered federally funded fellowship programs for over 40 years.
ASEE offers a broad range of K-12 engineering education resources and products through the society’s EngineeringK12 Center.
The ASEE International Department facilitates interconnectivity with stakeholders in engineering education from across the globe.
