Set Personal Goals
Not sure if want to get your professional engineering license? Consider this…
Most people do not realize how many people it takes for one person to succeed and the sacrifices that have to be made. Without the encouragement of my parents and husband, I would have quit. My husband knew how tired I would be when I got home from work, so he made dinner. I never would have won a gold medal without my family – they are the ones who made the sacrifices, I am the one who gets all the glory. I was not the only one who won that medal. My family deserved it too.
Although not everyone is going to win a gold medal at the Olympics, everyone can set personal goals. Striving to reach the goals is an achievement itself. Satisfaction comes from knowing you have given it your best shot. When you have done everything you know how to do and do not make it, you can still feel successful. Then you will never have to look back and say, “If I had only tried.” Who wants to live life remembering and regretting a lot of “What ifs”?
