PE Forums
When preparing for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE aka EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) tests, sometimes questions come up and you just need to talk to someone. And most likley you don’t have someone close to turn to – so where can you turn? Or maybe you think you are all set – that you “know it all” – but perhaps getting some fresh perspective, insight, or experiences would change your thinking. Well, there are a couple of good test prep forums out there that can come to your rescue.
ENGINEERBOARDS.COM
http://www.engineerboards.com/
Their 6,748 registered members have made a total of 173,833 posts to date. You can view the posts as “guest” – and if you register then you can also post to these boards. Check out their “Anything about PE exam” forum for stuff about the test – this includes help with which test to take, how to prep, what books to use, what to have for lunch, and even the famous (or infamous) discussions about “what color was the pencil?” After you register, you first post should be in the “Introduce Yourself” board. The other boards are in five main categories: Exam Discussion, PE Exam Prep, Technical Discussions, General Discussions, and Swap Shop.
There is also the “PE Notes wiki” – an attempt at a collaborative collection of PE exam info. You need to create a PBWiki identity and send an e-mail to the administrator.

These kinds of forums are very helpful for attaining knowledge from experienced people. The ARE Forum has an excellent forum for LEED discussions. These discussions offer knowledge and advice that would be hard to find elsewhere. I’m sure the aforementioned forums do much the same. Sharing one’s advice and experiences is crucial for helping others.
