Aquatic Professional Engineering Conference

The 1st Aquatic Professional Engineering Conference for engineers and architects will be held in Colorado Springs at the Antlers Hilton on April 14th & 15th, 2009

The course will present a complete overview of temperature and humidity control including ventilation requirements for proper indoor air quality. Evaporation and mositrue loads calculations will be presented along with chemistry, water filtration and water circulation. The proper air distribution methods will be discussed along with how they relate to space stratification and the chloramine “Bubble” at the surface of the water.

Those who attend will receive valuable information about the best pool design practices from well-established speakers. Courses are 1½ hours each and include the following:

Day 1 – April 14, 2009
“Enclosure Design” presented by Ted Wallover of Wallover Architects and Aldo Coronado of OLD Design
“Load Calculations and Indoor Air Quality” presented by Harry Milliken and Evert Osterman of Desert Aire Corporation

Day 2 – April 15, 2009
“Aquatic Mechanical Components” presented by Tim Warren of Astral Pools
“The Bubble of Bad Air and It’s Impact” presented by John McIlhargy of USA Swimming
“Air Distribution” presented by Randy Zimmerman of Titus and Sal Panico of CME Inc.
Miscellaneous topics including “S.W.A.T.” (Superior Water and Air Treatment)

*For individuals who are required to earn professional development credits, the USAS Aquatic Engineering Conference will count for 10 professional development hour (PDH) credits upon completion of the two day conference.

The 1st Aquatic Professional Engineering Conference will be held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Build a Pool Conference held in Colorado Springs at the Antlers Hilton on April 15-17, 2009.

April 15th, 16th, 17th will be the general sessions of the conference. Seven case studies for small and medium sized projects will be presented.

 

The cost for attending the Aquatic Engineering Conference is only $295 per person.  If any engineer or architect is also interested attending the Build-a-Pool Conference from April 15th through the 17th, the cost is only $50 more per person for a total of $345.
