U.S. News & World Report recently posted their “America’s Best Colleges 2009” web feature. Some of the information they provide is free; more detail is available to paid subscribers of their Premium Online Edition. The rankings are based solely on a peer survey of deans and senior faculty that asked them to rate each program they are familiar with on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (distinguished).
They do have specific data for the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs .
They make a distinction between institutions whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s and those whose highest degree is a doctorate.
The information and tools provided by U.S. News & World Report on their web site can prove useful in your search for a quality college or university that meets your needs, and starts you on a path to being a licensed, professional engineer!
