ASCE: Curious George Let’s Build

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has teamed up with the Curious George TV show to help bring engineering to any educational setting! With over 140,000 members, ASCE is a non-profit educational association prepared to help you deliver one-of-a-kind innovations using Curious George activities.  So with this program, as a teacher of a K-12 class, you can get your students excited about hands-on math, science, and engineering with an in-class visit from a professional engineer!

ASCE has trained scores of engineers across the country to deliver quality K–12 programs.

GOALS OF THE PRESENTATION
Delivers hands-on math, science, and engineering skill-building activities
Introduces students to engineering
Reinforces engineering design principles
Demonstrates the usefulness of thinking like an engineer!
Illustrates the daily relevance of engineering to students right in their classroom!
Shows students they can help solve world problems—great and small—just like engineers!
Helps families reinforce math, science, and engineering skills at home

To sign up, simply fill out the this form. The instruction indicate that one should allow 2–3 weeks for ASCE to identify your engineer and coordinate his/her visit with your class.

This seems to be an excellent opportunity to introduce professional engineering to the next generation!
