Pervious Concrete
I have recently become interested in using “pervious concrete” in the Chicago area as a way to reduce the size of a detention area in a commercial parking lot. The use of pervious concrete in the Chicago metro area has been limited to date, but there seems to be growing interest and a few applications. The City of Chicago has used permeable paving materials in a few alleys, as a part of the City of Chicago’s Department of Transportation’s Green Alley Program. BD&C magazine has a short news article about this today.
