NEC Requirements for Generators webcast

I attended the “NEC Requirements for Generators” webcast on Thursday (12/6/2007) hosted by CSE magazine and sponsored by Generac.  The presentation gave an overview of applicable codes and standards, explained that generator cabling is defined as a “feeder” and not a “service”, and provided some guidelines for generator sizing and start-up times.  Disconnect and grounding requirements were also discussed.  Cabling and coordination was also summarized.  A CEU exam is available on the CSE magazine website to obtain CEU credit.  Even though there were commercials for Generac inserted periodically into the presentation, overall it was an interesting and informative webcast.
